MOON & SOFIE

Every forest is a story. Leivs is the name of this forest, and even its magic has magic.

Everything that lives in The Magical Forest Called Leivs is a character in our story. There are the usual, unusual creatures: colorful toadstools who turn into bossy, busy Gnomes at nightfall, Dragons who suffer from nightmares, a wise and whooo-some Owl, a kind and benevolent Moon, Unicorns dealing with stress, rainbows that come unwrapped, and the power of friendship and love.

Now. It's time to meet Sofie, our young Dragon heroine, and her friends Moon, Owl, and the very helpful yet overly enthusiastic Gnomes.

Featuring my words and illustrations, the first installment of the Moon and Sofie series is my picture book Sofie's First Moonglow.

When you open the pages in this newly published paperback, we find a very grumpy Owl whose sleep and routines are disturbed by a mysterious egg that appears at the base of the ancient Trinkettree where Owl lives.

Wise Moon asks Owl and the Gnomes to assist with caring for this egg. What a bother! But, Owl learns to embrace his softer side and finds that he can work through his feelings in order to help someone who he does not yet know.

And this story is just the beginning!

My Moon and Sofie series is a joy-filled project that shares my love of nature as well as my love of learning through some fact and some fantasy and a whole lot of adventure.

I want to encourage curiosity and discovery in children and their grown-ups alike!

Moon and Sofie adventures continue in my chapter book Moon and Sofie Had Been Friends For A Long, Long Time, which I am reading aloud to you on my Youtube Storytime channel. Also be on the lookout for some more short and easy reader books coming out along the way.
